Taking note of the following aspects when planning to build a Medical Healthcare laundry facility.
Firstly, it is important to adhere to the hygiene industry standard for hospital medical textile washing and disinfection technology. This standard specifies the architectural layout requirements for medical textile washing sites, including hospital laundry rooms and social laundry service organizations. It is crucial to compare these requirements with your own plans to ensure that they meet the standard.
Specialized channels for people, clean and dirty, and a work process from dirty to clean without crossing or reversing are required in the new standard. The polluted and clean areas must be completely isolated with walls (physical barriers), and the air should not flow between them. Hygiene isolation washing machines are necessary to meet this requirement, and single-door washing machines are no longer recommended.
Dressing rooms should have touchless faucets and should be changed twice: once for shoes (buffering) and once for clothing, to reduce the risk of contamination. Special attention should be given to washing newborns, infants, and “infectious textiles” with specialized machines, and they should not be mixed.
The loading level for washing should not exceed 90% of the maximum capacity, i.e., the washing capacity of a 100kg washing machine should not exceed 90kg. This ensures proper cleaning and prevents damage to the machines.
Transportation requirements should be taken seriously as well, including the use of dedicated transport vehicles and no cross-use. A professional distribution logistics area should be set up with a building area of no less than 300 square meters.
By taking these factors into consideration when building your laundry facility, you can ensure that your operations meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety. As laundry consultants, we are here to help you with every step of the process.
